18 May 2023
Touchmark

Notes taken by:  Sue Bennett, Secretary
ATTENDEESs:  Sue Bennett,  David Debbink, Marcia Debbink, Paul Freiberg,  Barb Kelly, Bill Kelly, Lindsay Kaminski, Mary Poulson, Peter Thiel, Donna Weis

BUSINESS MEETING: Was called to order by President Bill at 6:00 p.m.
MINUTES:  A motion was made by David and seconded by Peter to approve the minutes.
TREASURER’S REPORT:  Barb reported payment of $348.00 to Touchmark for meals and receipts of $348.00 from members for meals leaving a balance of $1,861.03.   A motion was made by Marsha and seconded by Donna to approve the treasurer’s report.  Barb filed the 990N epostcard tax form electronically with the IRS.

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT:  Bert was not in attendance at the meeting, but he asked Bill to strongly urge members to sign up for papers for the coming year.

OLD BUSINESS:  Bill asked if anyone was planning on attending the ITAC Convention this June in Baltimore.  Paul said that he may attend.

Bill brought the books that we donated to the Neenah Library in memory of Mary Flanagan.  The titles are: Essential Japan, by Foder; One Drop: Shifting the Lens on Race, by Yaba Blay; and The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde.    Bill also said that many of Mary’s friends had made donations to the Neenah Library in her memory and is getting up to the total of donations needed for the library to put up a plaque in Mary’s name.   So, if anyone would like to make an additional donation to help to reach that goal, it would be a wonderful tribute to Mary.

NEW BUSINESS: Bill spoke about the Zoom meeting that ITAC had regarding their budget.  Their proposed budget may include an increase in dues and/or a decrease in services.  The budget will be voted on at the upcoming Convention and only delegates in attendance will have a vote.
Barb received an email from Dwight Williams, Regional Director of District 6, in which he expressed a strong need for Torch magazine article submission.   Information on the submission process can be found on the Torch Assoc. website and the password to enter that site is Torch1924.

Bill and Barb have again agreed to host our summer party on August 17th.

The business meeting was adjourned at 6:16 p.m.
