BUSINESS MEETING
Paul called the meeting to order at 6:03 pm.
Walt introduced his guest, Bert Weigand. Bert worked in IT for 40 years and is currently retired.
Peter had a correction to the meeting minutes from last month. He and Helen were not charter members of the Fox Valley Torch Club. The minutes with the correction were motioned, seconded, and approved.
Barb gave the treasurer’s report:
Balance in account last month: $2,867.74
Payments
Touchmark Dinners February: $144.00
Receipts
Meal Payments: $132.00
Balance this month: $2855.74
NEW BUSINESS
Barb noted that the club website received three emails.
- Chloe Hansen-Dunn, Senior Activity Coordinator at the Menasha Senior Center finds our group fascinating and would like to discuss setting up a sharing session for the center. Paul will follow up with her.
- A gentleman from Minnesota would like help organizing a club in his area. Barb invited him here to see how we do things. Paul will follow up with him. Our club could pay for their new club’s first meeting.
- A third person was interested in getting in touch with Cam. Barb forwarded the email to Cam, and the person had already gotten in touch with Cam through other means.
Barb noted that Reed Taylor is very interested in attending our summer party at the Kelly’s house. It is normally held on the second Thursday in August which will be August 13, 2020. We will discuss the party at the next meeting.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Mary Poulson announced that Jan Smith will be speaking at the Noon Hour Philosophers Club on Wednesday March 18 at the First English Lutheran Church in Appleton.
Erik Hanson announced that Appleton East School will hold a Digital and News Literacy community event on April 21 at 6 pm.
The business meeting adjourned at 6:18 pm.
